What colors are used to paint on the walls? Graffiti congratulations Beautiful drawings in the entrance

fashion trend recent years in interior design - wall painting acrylic paints, made using various technologies. What paints are used to decorate the surface, selection color palette and methods of drawing will be discussed in detail.

Options for choosing paints for wall decoration

The answer to the question of what paints are used on walls directly depends on the quality of the surface coating. Preliminary design with an acrylic base involves choosing a similar material for applying a decorative image. If the wall is covered with ordinary emulsion, the picture should also be painted with oil-based paint. The use of water-based paint in the initial interior design obliges us to use a similar material for the final decor. Let's consider characteristics each type of paint for painting on walls.

Acrylic

The leader among paint and varnish materials intended for wall painting are acrylic paints. The popularity of the product is due to multiple advantages:

  • ease of application;
  • quick drying;
  • no unpleasant odor;
  • high degree of adhesion to any surface;
  • resistance to high temperatures.

After drying, a film is formed on the wall surface that is resistant to mechanical stress and does not change color under the influence of the sun's rays. The environmental safety of the product is especially important if you plan to draw in a children's room. In some situations, acrylic paints are used to create a relief surface. Knowledge of a special application technique using a palette knife allows you to create an interesting wall texture.

There are two types of acrylic paints - synthetic and organic. Artificial resin is the basis of paint and varnish material; the difference lies in the origin of the coloring pigment; they can be artificial or natural. If you paint on the walls with synthetic products, where salts of various metals are used as dyes, the picture turns out bright and juicy, as in the following photo:

If you want to get an image of soft pastel shades during the drawing process, it is better to turn to organic-based products. The result of this art is shown in the photo below:

Depending on the area to be treated, they paint on the walls with acrylic paints using a brush, roller or spray gun. The range of its use is very wide. Thanks to the water resistance of the paint and varnish coating, in addition to finishing interior surfaces, it has recently become fashionable to paint on the facades of houses.

In most cases, acrylic paint is presented exclusively in white. To paint on the walls, they turn to tinting, which results in the desired shade. This is a very convenient option for painting surfaces.

Fluorescent

A very original interior can be achieved by painting with fluorescent paints. This image appears in the dark when ultraviolet light is directed at it. Complex pictures are not created using this method; they usually stop at simple figures. Butterflies and scatterings of flowers are especially popular; original patterns are often painted.

Stencils purchased or made independently will help speed up the interior design process. Professional designers use a variant of combined painting, when the main design is complemented with fluorescent paints. It looks very attractive.

Oil and stencil

Oil paints and varnishes are sometimes used as paints for painting on walls. Usually, painting with oil products is undertaken by professionals in their field. The result is images that, without exaggeration, are highly artistic works of art and arouse the admiration of those present.

Limited use is due to the following factors:

  • complexity of application, requiring professional skills;
  • high cost of material;
  • long drying process;
  • Due to the presence of solvent in the composition, the entire drying period is accompanied by the presence of an unpleasant odor.

Comment! Oil paints allow you to get vibrant and detailed images on the walls that cannot be achieved when using acrylic paints and varnishes.

Another option to decorate the interior in an interesting way is to paint the walls with stencil paints. Economical consumption allows you to create a design even with a small volume of product packaging.

Color palette of the picture

The palette of paints for walls depends on the type of paintwork. Due to the greatest prevalence of acrylic materials, it will be repelled from them. To start painting, you will need to purchase the following colors:

  • The minimum set is yellow, red and blue.
  • It is advisable to additionally take a purple color, since mixing blue and red often leads to a dirty shade.
  • Orange and green will help diversify the painting.
  • To achieve various light shades The main color is diluted with white paint (whitewash).
  • If it is necessary to paint dark areas, colors of the corresponding colors are purchased.

Methods of drawing

There are various drawing techniques. In most cases, they paint with a brush or airbrush. If you have the appropriate skills, the tools are combined.

Attention! If you paint with an airbrush, the image turns out to be similar to a photograph due to high-quality tonal transitions. This technique is more difficult to do with a brush.

Learning how to draw large pictures on walls is quite doable. To do this you will need:

  • Create a thumbnail image.
  • Break the drawing into squares.
  • Draw a layout on the wall with the same number of squares. Using a laser level will help speed up the process.
  • Transfer the sketch to the wall surface, focusing on the breakdown points.

If you can’t draw professionally, a variety of stencils will come to the rescue. Compact templates are easy to make yourself:

  • First, draw a figure on paper.
  • Then the sheet is compacted by gluing it to cardboard or using tape.
  • Use a utility knife to cut out the outlines.

To make a large painting on the wall, the appropriate stencils are purchased ready-made or you can order a sketch of your choice from special companies.

Wall painting in the entrance

To start painting in an entrance where the walls are whitewashed, the surface is first exposed with a white or transparent primer. These actions will prevent the paint from quickly wearing out or crumbling. One liter of protective coating is enough to treat 8-10 m2 of wall.

Advice! The primer solution is applied with a brush; using a roller will cause the whitewash to curl.

Over the next two hours, the primer will dry and they begin to paint on the wall. with a simple pencil, bad places are removed with an ordinary eraser. After preparing the sketch, they move on to painting the walls with paint. To work you will need:

  • White and transparent water-based paint, resistant to moisture.
  • Coloring pigments for acrylic products.

Finding transparent water-based paint labeled “Base D” is extremely difficult, but it is necessary for the formation of rich shades. To get a bright contour of a black design, add a couple of drops of concentrated pigment of the appropriate shade to 50-100 grams of colorless paint. Within an hour after application, the outline on the wall will dry, and you can paint the internal fragments.

To obtain unsaturated shades, white water-based paint is used; rich colors are formed by adding coloring pigments to a transparent base. After a couple of hours, the image will dry; after three weeks, the walls will withstand washing with a soft sponge and liquid detergents that do not contain abrasive substances.

Drawing on the wall is extremely exciting activity, capable of radically changing the interior of an apartment or the design of the facade of a house. Proper selection of colors helps to preserve the image in its original form for a long time.

You have practiced the skill of creating a single vault point in the center of the drawing. Let's take this idea further and draw part of the city in frontal perspective, where buildings, sidewalks, roads are located and, as it seems, dissolve into one point in the distance.

Take another look at the drawing of the city.

Looks very interesting, right? This is true! And drawing it is much easier than it seems. We will devote this lesson to strengthening a number of drawing principles: size, location, shading, as well as proportions, additional details and practice.

In drawing, the term "perspective" stands for "creating the illusion of depth on flat surfaces." The word "perspective" comes from the Latin word spec, meaning "to see."

1. Draw a horizontal line with an anchor point in the center.

2. Just as you drew guide lines to determine the position of the ceiling, walls and floor in the previous lesson, draw these lines to determine the location of buildings and the road.

3. Draw a vertical line where the buildings begin. Start on the left side. Then draw a vertical line where the buildings end, also on the left side. Make sure the lines are strictly vertical and parallel to the edges of your notebook. You can use a ruler if you want. When I draw a small frontal illustration, I usually don't use anything, I do it by hand. Try to draw this way and that, both with a ruler and by hand. Which method did you like best?

When you draw with a ruler, the drawing will be uncompromising and precise, whereas drawing by hand will not look as accurate, but will reflect your individual style. It often happens that someone who begins to experiment with the triangle becomes dependent on this tool. It should be understood that a ruler is just another drawing tool, just like shading. However, you can draw perfectly well without them.

4. Now do the same on the right side. Draw vertical lines to indicate the position of the buildings.

5. Make sure the top and bottom edges of the buildings meet at the center vault point.

6. Draw horizontal lines corresponding to the horizon line from the top and bottom corners of each building on the left side of the drawing. This is the moment when your drawing becomes three-dimensional!

7. Now do the same on the right side of the drawing.

8. Draw the road and median. Shade the building shapes. Place the light source at the point of the arch and shade all surfaces facing the opposite direction.

LESSON 23: PRACTICAL TASK

In life, without knowing it, you meet every day frontal perspective. For example, when you cross the street or while shopping in a supermarket, you notice a neatly lined island of cans. It's really very exciting. ABOUT! Another great place for a frontal perspective is the library! All the books on the shelves are in neat rows. Pay attention to this the next time you're at the supermarket or library. This makes the idea frontal perspective crystal clear!

Redraw the lesson again and add a few additional details. You can draw doors, windows, neighbors... Have fun! Draw canopies, a porch, perhaps a flower pot or two. True details are the spice of life!

LESSON 23: PRACTICAL TASK No. 2

Why stop there? Why not use the frontal perspective technique in reality and see how it works? Take your easel and go outside. Find a location that is visually interesting. Try to sit somewhere in the park, on a bench, on a pier... And repeat what you see.

You can also take a suitable photo and use it. Of course, this is not as interesting as walking, but it will still help you practice frontal perspective

Photo: Georgy Shishkin / Kemerovo Newspaper

In a rare entrance in Kemerovo you will now find something like “Kolya is a sucker” or “Vasya was here.” There are noticeably fewer such inscriptions, and in general, it seems that the fashion for expressing oneself in this way has passed. Meanwhile, the stairwells were not empty for long: the homeowners themselves took charge of them. Correspondent" Kemerovo newspapers"I looked into the entrances of Kemerovo high-rise buildings and became acquainted with the so-called housing and communal services art.

A bathing hare, a cheerful little dog, sunflowers, flowers and the sun - these are not all the drawings that were placed on the walls of the fifth entrance of the high-rise building on Michurina Street, 37. A few years ago, a local resident decided to decorate the landings and painted entire landscape compositions on the walls: the river bank , a forester's hut, a grain field with a mill. Now the author of the entrance painting lives abroad, but his paintings are alive. According to Olga, a resident of the house, everyone likes this kind of art and no one is going to paint over the drawings. During cosmetic renovations (it has already been done twice after the entrance was painted), they are carefully avoided.

In the sixth entrance of the house on Sportivnaya, 40, wall paintings appeared about 10 years ago - immediately after renovation. So the residents decided to create “the best entrance.” " There used to be paintings here on the walls, but people started stealing them, so we removed everything, - says Lyudmila Andreeva, the eldest at the entrance. - And the drawings were made by one of our residents, he is a teacher, lives on the first floor". "Do you think these are beautiful drawings?", I ask the resident. " Is it bad? Our entrance has always been considered the best in the house. And everyone is still jealous of us. True, I had to remove all the curtains from the windows: the old people shouldn’t wash or jump with them - the young ones don’t need anything".

However, not all young people support the idea of driveway art. Alina Akhmetzyanova has been living at 40 Sportivnaya for four years. And he sees at least two problems in housing and public utilities art: the first is that it was drawn by a weak artist, and it turned out tasteless. The second - and few people notice it - the pictures on the walls delayed the renovation of the entrance by at least several years. " Usually we are unhappy with teenage graffiti: pentagrams, declarations of love, curses, but this, in my opinion, remains somewhere in the past, says Alina. - Housing and communal services art, in my opinion, is much worse. Residents of an entrance that has not seen renovation for a relatively long time, but in which the grandfather painted something on the wall with oil or acrylic paints on subjects, say, Russian folk tales, they reason simply: bunnies and mushrooms are good, don’t paint them over. Bad taste is easily forgiven; people are ready to endure it for years".

According to the young girl, the entrance requires a new design using modern technologies. We asked the head of the house, Lyudmila Andreeva, whether cosmetic renovations of the house were discussed at general meeting residents, to which we received the following response: “We’ve had our fourth repairman in a month, what kind of repairs are there!”.

Director of Housing and Communal Trust LLC Elena Mazurok does not see anything surprising in the fact that there is a staff turnover in the management company. " We work according to the municipal tariff, and we cannot pay the same master more than the established amount", says the head of the management company.

Elena Mazurok also noted that no drawings can push aside repairs in the entrance if it needs it. The main thing is for residents to agree among themselves on the timing and amount of repairs. " According to the Housing Code, the burden of responsibility for the maintenance of common property lies with the residents of the house. They must organize a general meeting and make a decision, - comments the director of the management company. - Yes, we are also responsible, but not 100 percent. The share of the management company is 30-35% of the estimated cost of repairs".

According to Elena Mazurok, she did not see the wall painting in the entrance of the high-rise building on Sportivnaya. Although he is of the opinion that entrance art should be aesthetic: " If, in principle, it is done with taste, not some incomprehensible graffiti, but, for example, a landscape, that’s good. So that not each element is presented separately, but they are all combined together. I saw entrances whose walls from the first to the ninth floor were painted by artists - that’s beautiful".

However, the Housing and Communal Trust could not boast of such entrances: the wall paintings in the houses under its management were only partially preserved. However, we still managed to find one such example in Kemerovo. The seemingly ordinary five-story building on Tereshkova Street turned out to be not quite ordinary inside. All the walls of the third entrance of house No. 42 are painted oil paints and look like a single canvas depicting the four seasons.

This idea was realized eight years ago by Kemerovo artist Vitaly Nikolaev. The management company took the initiative to decorate the entrance. That year, the entire house was renovated according to the “50/50” program, that is, half of the work was paid for by the residents themselves, and half by the management company. The roof and utilities were replaced. The head of the house, Valentina Tabulina, provided considerable support in organizing the repairs. In gratitude, REU-19 invited an artist to paint one wall of the third entrance on the first floor. The eldest in the house liked the gift, but it lacked integrity. " I thought it was not good that only one half was painted, says the resident. - This makes no impression. I called a general meeting, at which it was decided to paint the entire entrance. Of course, the residents paid for this work out of their own pockets. But everyone folded, no one was against it".

Over the course of eight years, the entrance work of art has fallen into disrepair, and now the house eldest is planning to restore the entrance. True, whether Valentina Tabulina’s new initiative will receive the support of residents is still unknown: many apartments have changed owners during this time, who may want to give the entrance a new, modern face.

Graffiti art – painting entrances

Graffiti artists from special agencies have nothing in common with vandals who spoil all the surfaces they come across, scattering them with incomprehensible signs and words, although their style is certainly similar.

Graffiti masters will be able not only to draw beautifully, but also to breathe life into a unique picture.

Decorating walls with graffiti has a number of significant advantages.

  1. Beautiful image.

You can choose any picture you like: the underwater world, the starry sky, picturesque landscapes of nature and more.

  1. Quick application.

A drawing created using graffiti dries instantly, so creating a whole masterpiece does not require much time. And this is a significant advantage over conventional drawing techniques.

  1. Suitable for all surfaces.

Aerosol paint is extremely unpretentious, it fits perfectly on enamel, varnish and any unevenness, which cannot be said about its competitor - water-based paint.

  1. Cheapness.

The method of covering walls with graffiti is much cheaper than the services of classical artists using paint. In addition, agencies specializing in graffiti usually offer discounts for entryways for the simplicity of the design.

If your neighbors are quite passive people and it is difficult to organize them to jointly decorate the entrance, do not be discouraged. Feel free to invite artists to paint your own floor, and all residents, seeing such beauty, will definitely join in and ask to decorate their space accordingly.

DIY wall painting

The easiest option to improve the appearance of the entrance walls is to paint them. Of course, you can contact the management company and listen to endless excuses about the absence Money, but, as practice shows, it is better to save your time and restore order and beauty in your home yourself.

You can give the walls a decent look using paint or whitewash. It is better to decide which option to choose at a general meeting of residents of your building.

Whitewashing will cost several times less, but this option will quickly lose its appearance and will require periodic updating. In addition, if you accidentally touch the wall, you will have to wash it off for a long time.

Therefore, it is better to choose paint, a method that is more expensive, but durable.

The next step is to choose the right paint.

It must meet the following requirements:

  • high ductility (paint with this characteristic easily tolerates sudden temperature fluctuations, does not crack and does not lag behind the walls even in the absence of heating);
  • ease of application (you should use only those types for which a roller is sufficient);
  • absence of a sharp unpleasant odor (residents of nearby apartments should not experience inconvenience);
  • dry quickly (otherwise all visitors to the entrance risk not only accidentally getting dirty, but also ruining the work already done);
  • fits perfectly on any surface and material, hiding construction irregularities.

Water-based paints meet all these requirements. They are easy to use, suitable for any surface and are sold at a reasonable price. Their only drawback is the small range of colors.

Today, the paint and varnish market produces special additives that give the desired shade and color saturation when added immediately before painting.

For a fresh, updated look in the entrance, you need to paint not only the walls, but also the floor. Floor paint should have a slightly different set of properties, the main of which are high strength and resistance to external influences. Often the same paint is used to cover the floor as for painting the roofing of roofs.

The floors in the hallways are either wooden or concrete. There will be no problems with wooden ones; any coloring agent will be suitable for them, except water-based emulsion. But still, in most cases, the floors in the entrance are made of concrete. How to choose the right paint for them?

Paints for concrete floors:

  • acrylic - easy to prepare for work and looks great;
  • latex - has a number of advantages: it dries quickly, is suitable for any surface, demonstrates increased moisture resistance, but is more expensive and not suitable for low temperatures (below - 15).

Residents of the entrance choose the paint color for the walls and floor together.

Procedure

After purchasing the paint, you can start working. It is desirable that all neighbors contribute a piece of their labor to the common cause: one will help with advice, another will bring a roller, the third will happily take on the main work.

Immediately before painting, it is necessary to perform a number of preparatory actions:

  • clean part of the walls from old dirt;
  • remove old paint with a spatula;
  • fill uneven areas of the walls.

If there are uneven remains of plaster on the walls of the entrance, you will have to remove them with a hammer.

All together, you will quickly put your house in order, and in the future, perhaps, you will even be able to take part in a competition for the title of the neatest and most beautiful entrance.

Whatever decoration option you choose: graffiti, artistic drawings or regular painting, the result will definitely please the big and small residents of the house and will pleasantly surprise random guests.

A bright colors will give great mood even on the most cloudy and dreary autumn day!
